Impact of Giving

The Prometheus Radio Project’s dedicated staff, volunteers, and nationwide network of allies and supporters mean that donations to Prometheus go a long way. With support form individuals like you and allies around the country, the Local Community Radio Act (LCRA) was signed into law in January 2011. This has created an opportunity for the largest single expansion of community radio in history.

As early as June 2012 months 1,000+ new low power radio station licenses will be awarded by the FCC.  Prometheus is focused on:

• Preparing groups to apply these applications.
• Advocating at the FCC for a favorable environment for low power community radio stations.
• Building and supporting a viable network of community radio stations.
